Biodynamics
Biological diversity for living wine.
The greater the biological activity inside, the healthier the soil. There is no finer agent for this than worms, microorganisms, and their kin, who improve the soil and expand its water and nutritional supply. As soil health grows, the vines themselves grow stronger and more resilient, and by extension so too do the wines. Robust floral diversity in the vineyard, including cover plants, flowers, and herbs, serves as a source of nutrition for the insect world as it buzzes and hums through its work. Beyond this, diverse and species-rich green cover regulates water levels in the vineyard, sending aerating roots through the soil that prevent erosion. Even during heavy rainfall, less soil washes away and the nutrients remain intact.
